Abhishri

Minds of children are great sources of imagination and ideas. They have a gifted ability to imagine things which are so very wonderful and innocent for the elders to think. And imagination is directly linked with creativity. If a child is imaginative and able to express his ideas on a piece of paper, he could be a marvelous painter or writer. With our experience, we have observed that there is a budding creative person inside every child. Whether it comes out to express itself or not is something which depends upon the environment he operates in.

Shri Brahma Devi Saraswati Balika Vidya Mandir has always encouraged its young writers and painters to put their feelings, ideas and imaginations on paper. And this has resulted in the publication of the wonderful annual school magazine named 'Abhishri.' When the first issue of the magazine came out, the entire school was astonished at the wealth of creativity that our children possessed. Children, with all the youthful enthusiasm, gave a tangible shape to their lovely feelings and presented them to the Magazine Editor. It was a fascinating sight. All the creations were so fresh, innovative and beautiful that we were overwhelmed. Even the students of the junior most classes had something to say!

Says the Principal Mrs. Alka Gupta, "It has been our long cherished dream to synthesize and mirror the kaleidoscopic pattern of the young minds, to feel the pulse of creativity of our budding artists reflecting their interests and abilities." The school magazine turned out to be a highly satisfying and soul searching experience. Now it is becoming a regular feature of Shri Brahma Devi Saraswati Balika Vidya Mandir. The magazine also contains articles and other creative pieces written by our teachers. 

A school magazine is a workshop not only of journalism, but it is a genuine training ground for the future writers, poets and men of letters who may well hold the worldstage tommorrow. Our prime objective behind publication of this magazine was to develop an all-round personality of the child with greater emphasis on academics. The first issue of 'Abhishri' is the evidence of the success that we have gained on this front.

Pragati

The school releases another publication 'Pragati' every year, which reflects our  achievements throughout the academic session. This is a way to keep our students and their parents informed about the latest happenings that concern all of us. The publication, which is eagerly waited by each and every one at Shri Brahma Devi Saraswati Balika Vidya Mandir, is distributed free among our students and staff.
