Shri Brahma Devi Saraswati Balika
Vidya Mandir has come up as a unique institution for girls education
within a short time-span of seven years. The school had began its
operations with just 7 girls. Today there are more than 1000 girls on its
rolls. The Senior Secondary School is affiliated with Central Board
of Secondary Education and provides education in three academic
streams:
a) Science Stream ( Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics )
b) Commerce Stream
c) Humanities' Stream
Girls of this school have not only done well in studies but they
have also
excelled in extra and co-curricular activities. The school has well-equipped
laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Computer
science. We are
planning to have a state-of-the-art Computer Education Centre at the campus.
Medium of study:
Shri Brahma Devi
Saraswati Balika Vidya Mandir
conducts classes from class 6th to XIIth. Classes are conducted in English and Hindi
mediums. Special attention is paid to teaching of English language but it is not the exclusive language
used at the Shiksha Bharati campus. The school gives equal
importance to the national language Hindi. Care is taken to
ensure that the organisation's students develop good verbal,
communication and writing skills in both the languages.
Presently,
more than 1000 students are enrolled with the
School. Children from all
communities and religions are admitted to the school based on merit,
and without any discrimination on any ground.
Five point
curriculum:
The school has
developed a five point curriculum for all-round development of the
students. The curriculum ensures that education provided at the
campus goes beyond the basic academic knowledge, and equip them with
skills and qualifications needed for leading a successful and
meaningful life. The five points of the curriculum are:
a) Physical
Training: Apart from the 400
meter running track within the
school campus, there is arrangement for several other games which
include physical exercise for girls, Yoga, Pranayam, Kabaddi,
Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Basketball etc.
b) Mental Training:
Teaching of all subjects is done through psychological techniques
which can develop the students' power of imagination, analysis,
synthesis, comparison, observation, decision-making, introspection
and inference-drawing.
c) Vocational
Training: Arrangements have been made for training
the students in several job
oriented activities/courses like drawing, cookery, music, stitching,
embroidery, knitting, photography and food preservation. This is
done with an objective to create and
encourage various talents among
the students.
d) Moral Training:
During the morning prayers, students are encouraged to speak on the
thoughts and lives of great personalities. On festivals and special
occasions, the pupils read out views of great people and explain
religious, cultural and social concepts. On important national days,
the national song is recited by the students. Such activities create a sense of
responsibility towards the nation and the society, and inspires the
students to adopt virtues such as truth, kindness, affection,
service, sacrifice and discipline.
e) Spiritual
Training: Prayer, meditation, yoga discourses from religious
scriptures, biographies of great leaders help to create faith among
students in Indian culture and Philosophy which is basis of the
Indian way of life.
Excellence
is rewarded:
Shiksha Bharati also
provides scholarships to meritorious students. These scholarships are given on an annual
basis. A Child standing first in his/ her class on the basis of
overall performance in all tests and examinations is entitled to this
merit scholarship. Girls
from economically weaker section of the society are given free
education by the school throughout the year. The school also has a
Vanvasi Hostel, whose residents are provided free education, boarding
and lodging. The girls here generally come from the North-East part of
the country.
